Covid-19 Protocol

As valued members of our dance family, we appreciate your patience in this process as we navigate new procedures and practices.  While we missed our dance family immensely, we feel blessed that we have been given extra time to make improvements to our current operations and practices.

We will continue to monitor and implement the local, state, and federal recommendations as they’re announced and make changes as necessary. Should the need arise to adjust these procedures, we will keep you updated on new practices through email and our new parent portal.

We take pride in our facility and how it operates and would like to highlight the policies we have in place at the studio to help our dance families stay healthy and safe.

SAFETY & PREVENTION STEPS

Spacing, Capacity, & Numbers

  • The lobby and café area will be CLOSED to those not in a dance class. Seating in the café and lobby will be removed or taped off to discourage lingering.  As much as it breaks our hearts, we feel closing our waiting room will eliminate group gatherings as well as help to eliminate the spread of germs in the studio.

  • Designated Entrance and Exit Doors

All parents/guardians should to enter through the door nearest the bank, drop off your child, and either wait in your car or return at the designated pick up time. You may pick up your child at the previously located main entrance.  Please be on time for pick up.  Please make a single file line up to the door where your child will be. Please maintain social distancing while in line.  Each child will be dismissed individually as each parent comes to the door. The line may be long on certain days so please be patient, this is all for the health and safety of your children.

  • Staggered class start times when possible to avoid mass entry/exit

  • Space provided in each classroom for personal belongings to discourage congestion in the lobby area.

Please limit the number of personal belongings only to those that are necessary for dancing (proper dance attire, shoes, water bottle labeled with name, small snack if class duration is long).  Please leave all other items at home in order to maximize space in the classroom and minimize the risk of spreading germs.

  • Reduced class sizes to allow for proper distance between dancers

  • Training for instructors to reinforce spacing during dance classes

  • No close contact: Students will not be permitted to hold hands, high five, or touch each other in any way.  Please remind them to keep to themselves, they all love to hug each other!

  • Only online payment transactions will be accepted in order to limit lobby congestion and ensure the safety of our staff.

Check-in Procedure / Screening

  • Screening:  Upon entering the building, students and staff will be screened for temperature using a touchless laser thermometer and asked if they (or anyone in their family) have experienced any covid-related symptoms in the last 24 hours.  Anyone with a temp over 99 degrees or displaying symptoms will not be allowed to remain in the building.  Per the CDC these symptoms include:   Fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.  If your child has any of these symptoms, please keep them home.  If your child displays any of these symptoms while in the studio, we will contact you to pick them up.

  • No street shoes will be allowed past the lobby. Only dance shoes will be worn in the classrooms.  This includes hip hop!  You must have separate shoes for hip hop classes.  When entering (after, students will be asked to immediately remove their shoes and proceed to the classroom to place their belongings in a designated area.

  • Sanitize! After placing belongings in a designated area, everyone will be instructed to use hand sanitizer and wait in their classrooms for class to begin.

  • Everyone is permitted to wear face masks should they feel the need, but they are not required per the industry standard.

Sanitization & Cleanliness

  • CDC approved sanitizer will be available in each classroom and the front desk. Students will be asked to use it frequently. If you’d prefer your own, students are permitted to bring it in their dance bag. Our sanitizer will contain at least 60% ethanol or 70% isopropanol.

  • Surface Cleaning: High-contact surfaces, desk workstations, restrooms, etc Between each class we will be wiping down frequently touched surfaces and equipment with bleach or other cdc approved cleaning solutions.

  • Routine Deep Cleaning of the entire facility will be conducted on a regular basis during after-hours.

Please alert us if your child does have COVID-19 and has been to the studio within the last 14 days so we can contact their peers.

At this time King’s Dancers will open with these restrictions until directed otherwise. Each family is encouraged to make their own decision about coming to the studio, please do what you feel comfortable with and what makes the most sense for you and your family. Your health and safety are most important to us!

The well-being of our students and families is a top priority! Please know that we are here to address any concerns or issues.

Sincerely,

King’s Dancers Staff
