Covid-19 Protocol

As valued members of our dance family, we appreciate your patience in this process as we navigate new procedures and practices.  As more information is gathered, we will continue to monitor and implement the local, state, and federal recommendations as they’re announced and make changes as necessary.  We also look forward to lessening restrictions (ie opening the lobby, and removing the need to wear face masks) when state and local agencies inform us it is wise to do so. Should the need arise to adjust these procedures (either tightening or loosening restrictions), we will keep you updated on new practices through email and our new parent portal.

We take pride in our facility and how it operates and would like to highlight the policies we have in place at the studio to help our dance families stay healthy and safe.

Safety & Prevention Steps

Spacing, Capacity, & Numbers

  • Class sizes will be limited to 12 students plus the instructor (and helper if needed).

  • The lobby and café area will be CLOSED.  Classes will utilize the two larger classrooms and nearest restroom.

  • Only online payment transactions will be accepted in order to limit lobby congestion and ensure the safety of our staff.

Check-in Procedure / Screening

  • Upon arriving to the studio, one parent from each family should drop off their student(s) at the entrance nearest to the bank.  Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes prior to your class time.  Students will not be allowed to enter the building until the previous class has exited.  We ask that students and parents please wear a mask during drop off, and observe social distancing guidelines while waiting for students to enter.

  • Screening:  Upon entering the building, students and staff will be screened for temperature using a touchless laser thermometer and asked if they (or anyone in their family) have experienced any covid-related symptoms in the last 24 hours.  Anyone with a temp 100 degrees or over, or displaying symptoms will not be allowed to remain in the building.  Per the CDC these symptoms include:   Fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.  If your child has any of these symptoms, please keep them home.  If your child displays any of these symptoms while in the studio, we will contact you to pick them up.

  • When entering, students will be asked to immediately remove their shoes and proceed to the classroom to place their belongings in a designated area. No street shoes will be allowed past the lobby. Only dance shoes will be worn in the classrooms.  This includes hip hop!  You must have separate shoes for hip hop classes.

  • Sanitize! After placing belongings in a designated area, everyone will be instructed to use hand sanitizer and wait in their classrooms for class to begin.

  • Everyone (staff, teachers, and students) must wear face masks while entering, and during dance class unless a physical condition prevents them from doing so.  If this is the case, please contact us for prior approval before attending dance class.

During Classes

  • Classrooms have been properly marked ensuring students are aware of 6 feet of social distancing.  Students will be asked to observe this practice during dance classes.

  • Students and staff will wear masks during class.  Breaks will be given often, in which students will be asked to sit along the wall on 6ft markers.  During these breaks students may get a drink and remove their mask.  If at any time during class a student needs a break, they may simply ask to sit out.

  • Parents may wait in the car during class, or return at the designated pick up time.

  • While we encourage parents of preschoolers to drop off as well, we understand that this may be difficult the first few weeks of class.  Should the need arise, parents of hesitant preschoolers may request to remain in the building to ease the process of starting a new class.  Contact us for more information on this option.

Pickup/Exiting Procedure

  • Pickup will be at the same entrance, nearest to the bank.

  • Please be on time for pick up.  We cannot let the following class enter until all students have been picked up.

  • When picking up, please make a single file line up to the door where your child will be.

  • Please maintain social distancing while in line.

  • For all students age 9 and under, each child will be dismissed individually as each parent comes to the door. The line may be long on certain days so please be patient, this is all for the health and safety of your children.  Please do not ask us to send your 5 year old into the parking lot.  The parking lot can be busy as classes change, and we wouldn't want to risk your child's safety.

  • Older students may walk to the car without a parent, but please be aware that once the student leaves the building, we cannot be responsible for them.

Sanitization & Cleanliness

  • CDC approved sanitizer will be available in each classroom and the front desk. Students will be asked to use it frequently. If you’d prefer your own, students are permitted to bring it in their dance bag. Our sanitizer will contain at least 60% ethanol or 70% isopropanol.

  • Surface Cleaning: High-contact surfaces, desk workstations, restrooms, etc Between each class we will be wiping down frequently touched surfaces and equipment with bleach or other cdc approved cleaning solutions.

  • Routine Deep Cleaning of the entire facility will be conducted on a regular basis during after-hours.

Please alert us if your child does have COVID-19 and has been to the studio within the last 14 days so we can contact their peers.

At this time King’s Dancers will remain open with these restrictions until directed otherwise. Each family is encouraged to make their own decision about coming to the studio, please do what you feel comfortable with and what makes the most sense for you and your family. Your health and safety are most important to us!

The well-being of our students and families is a top priority! Please know that we are here to address any concerns or issues.
